My Neighbourhood: Palestinians and Israelis peacebuilders

"When a Palestinian boy loses half of his home to Israeli settlers in East Jerusalem, he joins his community in a campaign of nonviolent protests. Efforts to put a quick end to the demonstrations are foiled when scores of Israelis choose to stand by the residents' side."

Boy:      "They came at ten o'clock... with a lot, a lot of anger faces."

Setrler:  "...and the Bible says that this area and this country belongs to the Jewish people. All this area will be Jewish neighbourhood."

Boy:     " I hate them." (watch the video)

This is the work of Just Vision: "Increasing the power and legitimacy of Palestinians and Israelis working for nonviolent solutions to the conflict."

The Story of the Wealth of Nations by Leo Huberman

As I'm having back problems and cannot spend to much time at the computer I'm rereading Leo Huberman's Man's Worldly Goods a book I did read when I was nineteen.

This time with critical eyes and also feeling distressed that economy is still the center of  humans existence.

Ariadne's Thread always guides

In Greek mythology Ariadne is the daughter of Pasiphaë and King Minos of Crete. She fell in love with Theseus and gave him the thread with which he found his way out of the Minotaur's labyrinth after killing the Minotaur.

The expression "Ariadne thread"  is the solving of a problem with multiple apparent means of proceeding - such as a physical maze, a logic puzzle, or an ethical dilemma to trace connections between different parts of what seems like an impenetrable maze.

I like to think about Ariadne's thread as the certainty that in the most difficult circunstances there is a thread to show the way out. Just pick a color and go.

Americans already voting for president

I do not understand. What is politics? What do politicians do?
Surely not what is being done in many countries for some decades. In US it is not only said that what they are doing politics but also that the country is a democracy with freedom of speech, and... Grr.
This is not what many Americans are telling me and what facts like Susan Lindauer's arrest and the threat to death of journalists in Libya by CNN and NATO... and...

This is sad and is costing numerous people's lives.
America. The land of opportunities?

Faites vos jeux!

In the meantime:

THERE WERE NO PROTESTERS IN BENGHAZI

The White House claims that protesters against that anti-Muslim video “spontaneously” attacked the so-called “consulate.”  In reality there were no protesters anywhere in Benghazi at the time of the attack. When Fox News questioned US officials about this, the officials admitted the truth. (13)

Nonetheless, the Obama administration/regime continues to insist that “protesters did it”. This lie not only conceals the Green Resistance; it also makes Muslims all seem irrational and blood-lusting, thereby justifying imperialist aggression (that is, the “war on terror”).

Robert Plant in Rio de Janeiro next October

I wish him a nice stay and a great tour. In October, 18 he will be in Rio and I'll not go because I don't like being in a crowded place to listen to music.

Of course he'll miss me but he'll have to overcome it. I'm sure he will.

Have a great weekend!

Why medium waist jeans are hard to find?

I am searching desperately for mid-rise waist jeans because I never liked and will never like low-rise ones and they are omnipresent since the beginning of the nineties.
They look great in teens but, for me, not in women.

I usually have one pair of jeans dark blue, light blue and black. I only have the dark one and the others are missing. What a tragedy!

One of the reasons I hate fashion is this standardization of the bodies.
Women has already extract teeth, rips and whatever to adjust their body to the the most insane trends.
What about women who are fat? There are no clothes for them. It take years for them to find a shop with extra large clothes. Women has to have a rectangular torso now and no curves. I object!

And the fashion victims wear whatever they are told no matter if it suits or not. I'm sure that even those who don't pay attention to fashion has already seen someone like the person in the picture.
I have seen so many female bellies!

I'll try to find another pair of jeans. Maybe next year. Wish me luck!

                                                       Dear God,
Please tell Eve that this is not the only choice.
Thank you.
       Sincerely yours,
                Ana

Serious journalists working for Al Jazeera?

I used to comment at Al Jazeera two years ago.
Yesterday I visited the site left some comments and  noticed that those good commenters are gone.
There were  very good comments that sometimes were better than the article or added very important issues making a very interesting exchange of knowledge and information.

It is over. The Islamophobics took over and the articles of good journalists are put in discredit through those famous arguments used in propaganda.
Above my last comment in Al Jazeera.

Update September 21:
"Al Jazeera English has been prostituted, and is no longer a reliable source of information."

"The first rumors emerged about a year ago, during the Libyan campaign, alleging that much of AJ's supposedly "live" coverage from Tripoli was actually shot upon a sound stage in Doha, (Qatar), which was made up to look just like the main square in Tripoli (Libya). Certainly, beyond a doubt, Al Jazeera was leading the charge in the information war against the Gaddafi regime."

Blogspot's captcha among the worst

Whenever I visit Ken's blog I feel like commenting in many posts because I love his work.

Unfortunately Blogspot changed it's "you're not a robot" verification and it is an ordeal to decipher what is written.

People think twice before clicking to comment and now another reason not to comment.

Strawberries with a face

This is perfect! The right amount of cream to eat them and it brings color and fun to the table. I'll buy strawberries and do the same.
I know a woman who claims: "I don't eat meat, I don't eat anything with a face."
Do you think I should invite her?

I found this picture at a social network where people publish pictures without the credits.

Zionist Bernard Henri-Levy wants intervention in Syria

In November 2011 the Algerian journalist Bernard Henri-Levy said that: "It is as a Jew that I took part in the political adventure in Libya" and that he was "Faithful to Zionism and Israel." at the first national convention organized by the Council of French Jewish.

After helping the Libyan intervention he is now asking for the same in Syria. He wrote a letter to French president Hollande. Again as a Jew and a Zionist.

I hope these statements help some people understand why someone who has a BA in philosophy embraces causes that has as consequences genocides, tortures and numerous crimes against humanity.

US Ambassador in Libya killed by US Government

US-Backed Terrorists Murder US Ambassador in Libya
Murdered US Ambassador exposes Libya "progress" propaganda - provides a warning against US meddling in Syria
by Tony Cartalucci
Globalresearch, September 12, 20012

- “I have met with these brave fighters, and they are not Al-Qaeda. To the contrary: They are Libyan patriots who want to liberate their nation. We should help them do it.” – Senator John McCain in Benghazi, Libya April 22, 2011.
….
McCain’s “Libyan patriots” have now murdered US Ambassador John Christopher Stevens in the very city McCain spoke these words. An assault on the American consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi, the epicenter of not only last year’s violent subversion and destruction of sovereign Libya, but a decade’s old epicenter of global terrorism, left Ambassador Stevens dead along with two of his aides.
The violence, Western media claims, stems from an anti-Islamic film produced in the US. In reality, the coordinated nature of the attacks on both the US Embassy in Libya, as well as its embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, are most likely using the Neo-Conservative Clarion Fund-esque propaganda film as a false pretense for violence long-planned. The Clarion Fund regularly produces anti-Muslim propaganda, like “Iranium,” specifically to maintain a strategy of tension using fear and anger to drive a wedge between Western civilization and Islam to promote perpetual global wars of profit. emphasis added.

Image: Senator John McCain in the terrorist rat nest of Benghazi after marshaling cash, weapons, and political support for militants tied directly to Al Qaeda. McCain’s insistence that the terrorists he helped arm and install into power were “not Al Qaeda” runs contra to the US Army’s own reports which state that Benghazi’s terror brigades officially merged with Al Qaeda in 2007. McCain’s “Libyan patriots” have now killed US Ambassador Stevens with RPG’s most likely procured with cash and logistic networks set up by NATO last year, part of a supranational terror campaign that includes violently subverting Syria – a campaign McCain also supports.

NATO Knowingly Handed Libya to Al Qaeda
Indeed, the US Army’s West Point Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) noted that Benghazi and the neighboring city of Darnah served a disproportionately high role in supplying foreign fighters to wage terror against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan – foot soldiers brought in to fuel a destructive and divisive sectarian war that undermined a united Sunni-Shi’ia resistance to Western troops who had invaded.
Image: In Benghazi, in front of the very courthouse McCain and other representatives of the West’s corporate-financier driven foreign policy voiced support for Libya’s terror brigades, sectarian extremists took the streets waving the flag of Al Qaeda, even hoisting it atop the Benghazi courthouse itself. Despite a concerted effort by Western media houses to portray Libya as in the hands of progressive democratic secularists, the country was intentionally handed over to extremists to serve as a base of militancy to destabilize and destroy targets of Western interest around the word.
….
The men McCain was defending were Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) militants, terrorists linked directly with Al Qaeda according to West Point reports (.pdf), and listed to this day by the US State Department, the UK Home Office (.pdf), and the UN as a “foreign terrorist organization.” McCain was not only rhetorically supporting listed terrorists, but calling for material support including weapons, funds, training, and air support in direct violation of USC § 2339A & 2339B, “providing material support or resources to designated foreign terrorist organizations.”
These same terrorists are now not only the defacto rulers of much of Libya, but are leading death squads in Syria and arming militants in Mali, an exponential expansion made possible by a non-partisan effort including Republicans and Democrats, as well as Bush-era Neo-Conservatives who concurrently lead both anti-Islam propaganda while leading calls to arm the most radical sectarian extremist groups, including groups directly affiliated with Al Qaeda.
Syria is Next
Not only has US policy been exposed as not “promoting democracy” but purposefully spreading destabilization, violence, and terrorism, but the exact same militants behind the death of the US’ own ambassador are literally leading US efforts to visit the same violence, destabilization, and chaos upon Syria. emphasis added
Reuters, in their article, “Libyan fighters join Syrian revolt,” reported, that Mahdi al-Harati, “a powerful militia chief from Libya’s western mountains,” who is actually a militant of the US, British, and UN listed terrorist organization Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), “now leads a unit in Syria, made up mainly of Syrians but also including some foreign fighters, including 20 senior members of his own Libyan rebel unit.” Reuters would go on to explain, “the Libyans aiding the Syrian rebels include specialists in communications, logistics, humanitarian issues and heavy weapons,” and that they “operate training bases, teaching fitness and battlefield tactics.”
Image: Libyan Mahdi al-Harati of the US State DepartmentUnited Nations, and the UK Home Office (page 5, .pdf)-listed terrorist organization, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), addressing fellow terrorists in Syria. Harati is now commanding a Libyan brigade operating inside of Syria attempting to destroy the Syrian government and subjugate the Syrian population. Traditionally, this is known as “foreign invasion.”
….
Reuters concedes that the ongoing battle has nothing to do with democracy, but instead is purely a sectarian campaign aimed at “pushing out” Syria’s minorities, perceived to be “oppressing” “Sunni Muslims.”
Reuters’ propaganda piece is rounded off with a Libyan terrorist allegedly threatening that “the militancy would spread across the region as long as the West does not do more to hasten the downfall of Assad,” a talking point plucked straight from the halls of America’s corporate-financier funded think-tanks. In fact, just such a think-tank, the Foreign Policy Initiative, recently published astatement signed by Bush-era Neo-Conservatives stating:
“America’s national security interests are intertwined with the fate of the Syrian people and the wider region.  Indeed, Syria’s escalating conflict now threatens to directly affect the country’s neighbors, including Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Israel, and could provide an opening for terrorist groups like al Qaeda to exploit.”
Along with “War on Terror” proponent John McCain, Al Qaeda’s LIFG and America’s Neo-Con establishment are now operating in tandem, as well as in direct contradiction to a decade of “War on Terror” propaganda. It should be remembered that those who signed this statement, including Elliott Abrams, Max Boot, Ellen Bork, William Kristol, Paul Bremer, Paula Dobriansk, Douglas Feith, Robert Kagan, Clifford D. May, Stephen Rademaker, Michael Weiss, Radwan Ziadeh, were among the very engineers of the fraudulent “War on Terror” that McCain himself is such a fervent supporter of. Radwan Ziadeh, last on the list, is in fact a “Syrian National Council” member – one of several proxies the US State Department is hoping to slip into power in Syria.
Russia, China, Iran, and Others Oppose Terrorism in Syria for a Reason
With Libya’s “democratic progress” exposed as only tenuously covering up NATO’s creation of a nation-wide safe haven for Al Qaeda terrorists to subsequently be deployed against the West’s political enemies across he Arab World and beyond, it will be even more difficult, if not impossible to continue promoting this same “change” in Syria.  Libya, through direct action of NATO, has been overrun by terrorists. Syria’s government is desperately trying to prevent its people from being likewise overrun.
And even as the US buries its own ambassador, killed by terror brigades it itself armed and thrust into power through covert and direct military intervention, in a nation now wrecked by sectarian and tribal infighting, it insists on replicating its “success” in Syria.
Russia, China, Iran, and a growing number of nations have been opposing this campaign of supranational terrorism – with the death of Ambassador Stevens laying bare the true nature of America’s proxy “freedom fighters,” the list of global opposition will only grow, leaving only the most shameless and deeply invested to defend America’s invasive and bloody foreign policy.

What is the future of blog's content?

Is that the question? I don't know, I'm just thiking about what is the point in keep going.

I've been blogging since 2008 and for the fist time I'm asking what is going to happen whith what I did and if it is worthy keep going.
I did a search about the future of blogging but only those who are interested in marketing are discussing and this is not what I have in mind.

Last Tuesday there were 7,600 hits and most people came to read the post about 9/11 I did last year, "Are we all 9/11 survivors?" It was a surprise because I didn't publish anything about 9/11 this year and would even repeat the same I wrote last year.

What does it say? I don't know. I blog for many reasons and not knowing what is going to happen with what I'm doing makes me a little frustrated.
I'm not doing it to be known or any other reason. I just feel like saying a lot of things about what is happening in this world and sharing what people are doing.

Don't know. I think that things will change and what I'm doing will just disappear as if it has never been done.
I take this blog as a work. For what?

Guess Post: Sociologist David van Myk on Basic Military Training ordeal

Crossing the Okavango River between
 Namibia and Angola via dug-out

When I was a teenager I had a South African pen-friend, we used to exchange letters by mail in the seventies with people around the world so we got one letter every fifteen days. The sight of the envelop on the table was a brief moment of bliss.
The content was very childish, and we shared some of the trivialities of our countries, our lives, and exchanged postcards.

Meeting David van Myk at Facebook seems to prolong and complete a circle because while I was exchanging these letters David was doing the Basic Military Training.
A very friendly South African that became a virtual friend after exchanging ideas on topics that focus the serious things that are happening in the world.

Little did I know that he had been through an experience  that would change his perception and life forever: he did a Basic Military Training. This is part of his story, the beginning, and I've been talking to David lately. What he, and many, has experienced while training is the story of numerous soldiers around the world.
This is his testimony:

How does a white boy become a communist?
'Fourth Installment: Basic Military Training
by David Van Wyk

Between January and April 1977 I go through basic training.
The first three months of military training in the Apartheid defence force is basic training. Basic training involves breaking down the individuality of the intake, it also involved destroying innovativeness in favour of obedience and following orders.

Roofs (scabs) as the newly conscripted intakes were called were allowed to walk, but had to run everywhere, were marched up and down to develop synchronicity of group movement the arms, and legs of the marchers all had to move in time/pace.

Any individual showing any individuality was ostracised and forced to wear a white helmet which would make him stand out and the object of mocking, denigration and teasing by everyone else in the base. Conformity was greatly emphasised.

We are sleep deprived and can be woken up at any time of the night to march, to do physical exercise, to clean up the barracks, to do toilet duty, or simply to be abused. Our food is spiked with laxatives without informing us, the consequence is that many of the intake develop ‘gypo guts’ meaning they have uncontrollable bowel movements and many soil their pants. It is rumoured that our tea or coffee is spiked with “bull pills”*, which is said to suppress our sexual urges.

In between all this shit we are taught the military hierarchy (the difference between NCOs and officers) and insignia, how to shoot, assemble, disassemble our R1 rifles, clean and maintain them and to consider these unwieldy weapons “our girl friends” while in the army.

We are told that these are South African manufactured weapons. But those of us who have read about weapons before being conscripted know that these are Fabrique Nacionale (FN) 7,62 assault rifles manufactured in Belgium and used by NATO. We are taught how to use the Plessis radio communication equipment supplied by Great Britain. Shown how to use the 9mm Star parrabellum pistols imported from Spain.

The anti aircraft guns at the base will after March be introduced by those who remain at Youngsfield, these guns are supplied by Italy. So much for the UN Arms embargo!  We are also taught basic South African Military Law, and it is drummed into us that should we ever be captured by the enemy we should insist on our rights in terms of the Geneva Convention to be treated as prisoners of war. The irony is that South Africa in 1977 is not a signatory to that Convention.

We are taught to avoid the coloured girls of Cape Town on weekend passess. “These girls can be very deceptive, especially the Malay coloureds, many of them ‘resemble whites’, you will not even know the difference” the training officers tell us. “In any case you scabs are oversexed – if God wanted you to fuck all the time he would have given you ten penises instead of ten fingers” exclaims one enthusiastic sergeant major.

We do field training, bayonet training, buddy-buddy advances while firing, camouflaging. “If you are on the border you must not use cologne and aftershave or scented soap” advises sergeant Swanepoel. “Why not sarge, we will stink if we don’t!”, “Exactly troop, you will stink like a kaffir**, if you want 6to fight a fucking kaffir, you must smell like a fucking kaffir, if you smell like a fucking scented homo the terrorists will smell you and when they smell you, your position will be compromised.”

* It is slang derived from the Afrikaans, 'Bulpille', the reference to the colour blue is because our coffee and tea took on a blue hue whenever it was spiked.

** The word “kaffir” is a derogatory word for black Africans commonly used by whites under apartheid, it was part of the dehumanisation and denigration of ‘the other.’ Three other categories of other that were constantly denigrated were homosexuals, women and liberals. My apologies to my black readers, but I want to honestly bring out the brutality that was the Apartheid military machine. Most published accounts glorify that machine and hide how it actually functioned and what its intend was, trying to leave the reader with the misconception that it was an organisation of professional soldiers that only served the government of the day regardless of its ideology.

David van Myk M.D. is a professor of Sociology at the University of the North West Province and researcher for Bench Marks Foundation and Southern African Resource.

Prince Charles dancing break and samba in Rio de Janeiro

The break was performed at Kensington Palace Gardens and the samba in Rio de Janeiro.
I bet that after watching the videos you'll feel quite encouraged to dance the night away. It's Saturday after all.
If you consider yourself a terrible dancer remember the videos and also that nobody is really noticing you because we are all concerned with ourselves.
Have a great weekend!

Fake brand handbags shows women's character: Integrity in science?

"One of the more fascinating revelations is that women who carry fake Louis Vuitton or Tory Burch handbags or wear fake Cartier jewelry, are more likely to lie, cheat or steal than other women."

This is a research done by Dr. Dan Ariely, a Professor of Behavioral Economics at Duke University, has discovered and FOX news published an article about this revelation.

This will go for the 100% fake Hella Heaven seal.
This absurd hypotheses  is another of many absurdities from academic "researchers" of many specialties.
Dr. Dan Ariely should not be praised for such nonsense. He should be put on trial by his peers but chances are that his peers will soon be peer-reviewing it to accept it as theory.
Integrity in science? Where?
It seems that only those who are not receiving money from any institution or even who are far from institutions are capable of real research.

The consequences of researches like this are very serious. Still, nothing is done.

Update:
Just got this comment from Mark:

Blogger Mark p.s.2 said...
Do they also have more fake orgasm's during sex?
September 7, 2012 12:09 PM

Lol...
I'm sure they will never approach this topic because they would have to deal with the fact that their women
fake.
You know those couple that have a tacit pact? She fakes he pretends he doesn't know and she pretends that she doesn't know he knows.
Till death apart...
Taboo topic. I love them. I'll do a post about faking orgasm. Just wait.

"Sing a Song of Sixpence": nursery rhymes for your children

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
Baked in a pie.

When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Wasn't that a dainty dish,
To set before the king?

The king was in his counting house,
Counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlour,
Eating bread and honey.

The maid was in the garden,
Hanging out the clothes;
When down came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose.

I hope you have fun with your children.

Ellen Degeneres, me and Nancy: "Me and Now" at Beacon Theater

No. I'm not coming out, I like men, but she is a role-model for me. I would love to make people laugh and when I was a child I did a lot of things to myself that I would love to see now cause they were funny, at least for me.
I still do these perfomances for myself. I do faces at the mirror that are so strange and I have a lot of fun and also talk to myself inventing situations and stuffs.
I have a lot of fun doing these scenes.

Anyway... I'm not Ellen and whenever I see her I laugh and when it finishes I usually try to do some of the things she did. I don't dare to watch at myself at the mirror but I have a lot of fun doing it.

I wanted to share this with you, took some one-minute-shots and choose this one although the others are also great.

I can't be at the computer due to back problems I can read or watch TV. I choose to watch TV because I find good stuffs.
Maybe I have a gift because usually people say: "Turn off your TV or you'll become stupid or will be brainwashed and you'll this or that. TV is evil."
Strangely enough I found this show and also two good movies.
One of them is Sean Penn at "Fair Game" telling the Valerie Plame's story. Sean's character even exhorts  people to see the truth and take their responsability on what happens in US politics. Numerous critics... go here for instance.

But I don't know what is happening to these actors nowadays. They accept to do movies without researching and in the end it's always disappointing. The true story was not well reported as you can find in many sites.
What is going on Sean Penn? What about the other actors and actresses that are doing war propaganda?

Keep your TV on but be critical and search!
The other movie...I'll talk about it at another time cause I have to get out of the computer.

You can watch more Ellen at Youtube or buy the video, wait till they broadcast at the TV again.

shot these to choose one (click to enlarge)

Nancy? Where is Nancy? Watch the video. Now I'm gonna rehearse tripping at my living room...
Ok... This is the entire story in a very good video.

Polysemy explained with humor

Polysemy refers to a word that has two or more meanings. Now you know!
Multiple meanings of a word.
